Summons - Final Fantasy 3
There are 8 summons in Final Fantasy 3 Pixel Remaster, one per magic level. Two jobs cast them with very different reliability: an Evoker rolls one of two random outcomes per cast (50/50), while a Summoner always lands the single strongest outcome. Sage can cast summons but only at Evoker tier; for guaranteed top-tier effects you need a dedicated Summoner.
The first five (Chocobo, Shiva, Ramuh, Ifrit, Titan) sell as scrolls at Replito and Doga’s Village for 100 to 5,000 gil. The final three are also sold at the hidden third Eureka Sage shop (45,000-65,000 gil) AND dropped from optional boss fights: Odin in the Saronia Catacombs drops Catastro, Leviathan at Lake Dohr drops Leviath, and Bahamut in Bahamut’s Lair drops Bahamur. See the Optional Summons walkthrough for boss strategies.

How to unlock Summon Master
Owning the 8 spells in your inventory isn’t enough. The trophy only fires when all 8 are equipped on a single character at the same time, and only Evoker, Summoner, or Sage can hold all 8 in their spell slots.
The cleanest way to pop it:
- Buy the first 5 (Chocobo, Shiva, Ramuh, Ifrit, Titan) from Replito or Doga’s Village.
- Earn the last 3 from the optional boss fights (Odin in Saronia Catacombs, Leviathan at Lake Dohr, Bahamut in Bahamut’s Lair). Replacements are also buyable from the hidden Eureka magic shop if you sold any.
- Pick one character, swap them to Summoner (or Sage, or Evoker), open the Magic menu, and equip all 8 summon spells.
The trophy pops the moment the eighth one slots in. If you’ve already cleared the optional summons but haven’t seen the trophy, this is almost always why: the spells are in the inventory but not all equipped on the same character.
