Doga's Grotto
Doga teleports the party the moment they step into his manor. His grotto runs three floors deep with 6 missable chests, 2 items, 4 new bestiary entries (all missable), and the pair of bosses guarding the keys to the final dungeon.
Doga’s Grotto
The grotto runs three floors deep. Six chests sit on B1 and B2, and Doga and Unei guard the chamber at the bottom of B3.
New Enemies (*Missable)
- Nemesis rolls Confuse Gaze on 30% of its turns; a confused Dark Knight swinging at the party can end a fight faster than any enemy attack. Drop Nemesis first; it’s also weak to Fire, so Firaga from a Black Mage or Magus erases it in one cast.
- Ogre and Humbaba are pure physical brawlers; Humbaba is the heaviest target and resists Earth.
- Cyclops is the lightest of the four, also pure physical.
- Peryton returns here from the Sunken Cave, so it should already be in your bestiary.
B1. Walk south from the entrance and cross the left bridge. Take the south fork to a door. Inside, follow the hall north and west for 20,000 Gil. Circle the hall counterclockwise past the stairs for another 20,000 Gil. Take the stairs down.
B2. Walk north to the fork and take the left path all the way to a door. Three chests inside each hold a Shining Curtain. Exit, return to the fork, and take the right path through the upper door for the fourth Shining Curtain. All six chests done. Take the stairs down to B3.
B3. Follow the winding path past the waterfall. The corridor loops south then east before reaching the boss door. Save at the far end before entering.
How to Beat Doga
How to Beat Unei
A scene plays after both fights. The party receives the Syrcus Key and the Eureka Key, both needed for the final dungeon.
With both keys in hand, the Crystal Tower is technically open. Three optional summon bosses are worth the detour first: Odin, Leviathan, and Bahamut each drop a powerful summon spell. Board the Nautilus and head for the Saronia Catacombs.
