Baron

Cecil returns to Baron Castle after raiding Mysidia for the Water Crystal. Two scripted battles play out aboard the Red Wings airship before you land, and both register bestiary entries automatically: Floating Eyeball and Zu. Once the cutscenes end and Kain joins your party, you'll have full control.

Castle Baron

Baigan escorts Cecil to the throne room. King Baron strips Cecil of his Red Wings command and assigns him to deliver a package to the village of Mist. Kain steps in to defend Cecil and gets pulled into the mission too. You receive the Bomb Ring after the scene.

Head south from the throne room and down the stairs to the first floor. On the east side, a guard stands near a locked storage area. Interact with the button behind the guard to open the treasury.

Three chests inside: 480 Gil, Ether, and Tent (1-3/342). Hang onto the Ether for boss fights where MP runs low.

Exit the castle through the main entrance for a scene with Rosa (Cecil's love interest and White Mage). Head toward the tower and talk to Cid (the engineer behind Baron's airship fleet) along the way. Climb the tower to Cecil's room and rest. A scene with Rosa plays during the night, then you wake up. Kain meets you at the castle gate, and you take control on the overworld outside Baron.

Town of Baron

After the story scenes, you're in Town of Baron with full control. Stock up on Potions at the Item Shop.

Inside the Inn (50 Gil per stay), check the pot in the bedroom for a Potion (2/54). Head through the northeast stairs and interact with the swords on the wall to open a secret passage. Three chests down here hold Dwarven Bread, Tent, and Eye Drops (4-6/342).

Hidden items. From the town entrance, check the pot to the right for a Potion (1/54). Head north and search the pot between the two buildings for another Potion (3/54). In the northeast part of town, take the stairs down into the water and follow the river path all the way to a pond. Two items sit at the water's edge: Tent (4/54) and Hourglass (5/54).

Back near the northeast corner, look for an old woman standing by some trees. Push into the trees directly above her to find a hidden passage. Follow it to pick up a Phoenix Down (6/54), then continue south along the path for a Gold Needle (7/54) and a second Phoenix Down (8/54). All 8 hidden items and 3 of the town's 6 chests are now collected.

Chocobo Forest

Southwest of Baron on the overworld, look for a Chocobo Forest. Inside you'll find a hidden Gysahl Greens (9/54) in the grass patch.

Three enemy types roam the fields between Baron and Mist Cave. Register all three for the bestiary:

Goblins can drop the Secret Summon: Goblin item; Helldivers can drop Secret Summon: Cockatrice. Both are extremely rare, so don't go out of your way to farm them now.

Head northwest from Baron, across the bridge, and through the mountains to find the cave.
