Cyclone
The Cyclone is tearing through the landscape north of Fynn. You’ll need a Wyvern to get inside and the right gear from Paul’s stash for the boss fight; save before sailing because none of it comes back. This chapter covers Castle Fynn, Paul’s house, and the Cyclone for 15 missable chests, 8 new bestiary entries (2 missable), and 2 new keywords.
Last Chance Bestiary
A handful of overworld bestiary entries stop spawning later in the story, so this is the last reliable window to log them. Skip this section if you logged each missable as it appeared in earlier chapters; otherwise here are the best places to hunt them before going in.
Last Chance Enemies (*Missable)
The sea trio (Killer Fish, Buccaneer, Sea Snake) all share one encounter table; pacing any open-water route turns up at least one each fight. Antlion and Land Ray do the same on desert tiles. Phorusracos roams the marsh and forest stretch on the Dreadnought approach.
Castle Fynn
Sail south from the Mysidian Tower to exit the circular mountain range, push north to the mainland, and cross the continent on foot back to Castle Fynn. Climb to the throne room and talk to Hilda. She mentions Cyclone; learn it and ask about it. She confirms the only way inside is by air, and the last Wyvern egg can still hatch.
Return to the ground floor and take the stairs in the bottom-left corner. Climb the next set of stairs, walk up the narrow corridor, and through the door at the end. Use the Pendant on the mirror to trigger a cutscene; the last Wyvern egg hatches and the Wyvern flies straight into the Cyclone, ready to give you a ride inside.
Paul’s Stash
Before flying into the Cyclone, stop by Paul’s house in Fynn town to open the eight chests inside. The Blood Sword is the headline reward.
Talk to Paul and ask him about the Cyclone. He admits he’s been hoarding equipment and offers to share it. Walk to the bottom-right corner near his bed; a hidden passage leads through the wall.
Inside are eight chests: armor upgrades (Black Garb, Ruby Cuirass, Gold Cuirass, Silver Cuirass, Gold Hairpin, Thief’s Gloves), an Elixir, and the Blood Sword.
Equip the Blood Sword on your strongest physical attacker, restock at the Fynn shops, then walk the short distance from Fynn to the Cyclone and interact with it. The Wyvern carries you inside.
Inside the Cyclone
New Enemies (*Missable)
The dungeon is a vertical climb through winding corridors connected by staircase after staircase. Electricity panels cover portions of the floor and chip 1 HP per step from each character; not dangerous individually but it adds up.
Eyemoeba (1140 HP) hits 6 times per turn at high attack. Lamias (1000 HP) cast Confuse often, which charms party members; with the Blood Sword equipped, a charmed wielder turning on the team is the worst case. Vampire Ladies (1140 HP, weak Fire) hit 6 times and mix in Confuse, Blizzard, and Sleep casts; Fire ends them fast.
1F-3F. From the entrance, follow the winding corridor to the first staircase on the right and climb up. Head left for the Ripper in the top-left corner. Backtrack down and take the long path left to another staircase. Descend and veer left for the Poison Axe near the electricity panels, then return to the 1F starting area.
1F-4F. From that first staircase, walk left and take the middle passage to reach 2F. Continue left, then down, and climb the first staircase on your left to 3F. Turn left again and ascend the next stairs to 4F. The path splits here: left fork holds Diamond Gloves, right fork holds Diamond Helm. Grab both and head back to 3F.
3F-5F. Continue along the main corridor to the next staircase to 4F. Turn right and climb the left stairs to 5F. Veer left and follow the corridor down (avoid the electricity panel branch on the right) for the Defender. Proceed down and left for the Diamond Armor chest, the first of two monster chests in the dungeon: 2 Generals (1800 HP each) ambush it. Each one swings 10 times per turn, so burst them down with Berserk + Blood Sword before the damage stacks. Return to 4F afterward.
4F-7F. Take the right staircase to 5F and continue up to 6F. Circle north around the corridor to the Wind Flute chest, the second monster chest: 1 Green Dragon (3000 HP, weak Lightning). It hits 7 times per turn and mixes in party-wide Poison Darts. Heal up before opening it. Lightning spells make this fast; physical attacks bounce off its high defense. That’s all 7 Cyclone chests. Climb the nearby stairs to 7F for the Emperor.
How to Beat the Emperor
The Emperor fight is three consecutive encounters with no breaks between. Heal to full and equip the Blood Sword on your strongest attacker before climbing the final stairs.
Wave 1: 2 Royal Guards (870 HP each). Quick warmup; physical attacks only, focus one at a time.
Wave 2: 3 Royal Guards. Same approach as wave 1.
Return to Castle Fynn
After the fight, you’re transported back to Castle Fynn automatically. Leon, the Dark Knight, has declared himself the new Emperor, and a series of cutscenes plays out.
Talk to Hilda and she mentions Palamecia. Learn it and ask her about it. Speak with Leila and Gordon as well, ask them both about Palamecia, and they’ll mention Paul has bragged about breaking into the castle in the past. Time to pay him another visit.
The next chapter heads to Castle Palamecia. Stock Phoenix Downs before going in; the castle is the toughest dungeon yet. Save before heading out.
